Default are my eggs ok?

2 off my leo eggs have been cooking at 85 for 30days so they are pretty close to hatching they are double the size they where when laid and they are still red when candled with dark areas. but they seem to have gone quite soft compared to when they where first laid. The colour off the egg is changing a little also its turning more of a grey its still white but getting darker. Is this normal or does it mean they could be going bad? heres a pic of the eggs taken last nite. These are my first two eggs i have 6 more cooking but really want these to hatch but as there my first 2 i doubt they will.

okay colourwise ie getting darker is the embryo filling up more of the egg inside (usually more noticable if the shells are a bit on the thin side) ~ sometimes the eggs go a bit 'soft' and dimply prior to hatching (anytime from a week or so beforehand) looking at the picture they're looking good

Dave chill out! if you go on like this you`ll be a nervous wreck soon,
just put them in to cook, leave them along and sit back and wait, no need to candle, pick them up or anything like that!, let nature take its course, you will see if their good or bad, if you carry on worrying like this you`ll end up looking like sleepydee Hahaha.

lol know the waiting part ~ always reckon it's the worst bit when it's getting close to hatching time
I prefer using perlite with mine as I found it allows better airation and less risk of mould and too much moisture ~ and my incubators are run with two digital thermostats in each (one probe placed in an eggbox and another just placed in the incubator) .. there can be as much as 2* difference between the eggbox and the 'bator ~ so the incubator could be 80*f but the eggbox is 81*f-81.5*f
Where have you got the thermometer probe placed?

I have actually got 3 thermostats i got 2 probes in the egg box reading 85.2 and 85.3 and one in the actual bator which is currently reading 86.3 this one does flucuate a bit though ive seen go down to 84.8 and go as high as 87.1 but the ones inside the egg box are very stable.
