Default a couple of questions about corn eggs

I'd be grateful for some advice on the eggs I am incubating.

14 were laid 4 weeks ago, one went bad in first week, lost one the weeks after and two this week. I opened up one this one like week which had gone like rubber. This is what I found....

so I know they are fertile

temp is 82 and humidity is about 84-is this why some are collapsing?

Also is it common for the corn to double clutch? How soon after first lot if so?

Yes they are collapsing because of the humidity, mid 90% is what you need idealy, laying barely damp moss ontop the eggs can help achieve this and reducing ventilation in the egg tubs.

Thanks for replying

Ok shall get some moss as a couple more are feeling too soft, I suppose this is because of humidity too?

Yes they will go soft and sag due to low humidity, once increased they will begin to inflate again.

How is your incubator set up? You can also put a dish of water on the heatmat, that will increase your humidity too.

Defo agree with this! and corns will double clutch with no probs! usually about 6 weeks after the first lot give or take.
