am I being scammed???

I purchased an item via the classifieds and payed by paypal - the sell said that they would post 1st class recorded the next day, which was Tuesday. The item has not arrived and when I contacted the seller they said I should wait until next week. When I asked for the tracking number they said they hadnt bothered to send recorded or get a reciept for postage and that I should wait

I have opened a paypal dispute and have told the seller I will close it an apologise if the item arrives - am I being harsh

I am also concerned becuase this person also has other high value items for sale in the classifieds and I dont want people to get ripped off. But I also cant be sure they are not telling the truth.

The person has hatchling status and no real profile on the forum

they were obviously lazy cheasp skates if they said they'd send it first class but didnt and didnt even get a reciept. Keep the dispute! I would, I think their attitude stinks!

personally I think you're right.
they told you they'd do one thing and changed their minds. if I was selling I'd have done what I said and checked with the post office, not tell you to wait. my post office always issues receipts too, for any post

I'd be careful, keep that dispute open. Also check the post office in case they have it there! If it was sent 1st class, it definately shouldn't take more than a week to arrive. If you still get nothing, make a paypal claim!

name the person to stop other buyers getting caught out. If the seller is genuine they should have nothing to worry about.

Thats where I am in a quandry I dont want others to get caught out but I could also be being overcautios and I dont want to sling mud where it isnt due.


I think that If it does not arrive tomorrow I will speak to a mod about naming the OP - I think thats fair???????

oooh this is getting worse the op has now asked me to wait til monday before doing anything else. I am really concerned that I will get ripped and over the weekend other people will buy things and get ripped. The really pi$$y thing is that this was supposed to be a present for my son who has to go into hospital over the weekend to have a major operation on his spine - I am already stressed and dont need anymore hassle and also wont be here after saturday to sort it out. Tomorrow pm I will either apologise or name and shame.
