Default Oh for god sake !!

If you see an animal free to a good home but its not what you are looking for dont rehome it
just because its free !
cause then it either ends up getting rehomed or sold on.
poor animals dont need to go from one new home to another.

please carefully think before you rehome an animal as there are alot of what ifs.
what if it isnt toilet trained
what if it is too big
what if it dont like being handled etc

remember eventually the right owner will come along

im sick of free to good home people the advertisers and the people who take on what they dont really want

Default the free to good home debate

I dont agree that free to good home means a bad home to be honest. If the person has the knowleadge of the animal they are taking on and the finances and time to care for the pet I dont see a problem n giving it free.
If paying for a pet stops people buying to sell on or getting a pet they really dont want then how come many pets bought off breeders and pet shops end up in Rescue ?
paying doesnt put some people off at all.Id say the issue is for the owner to make sure the pe they are re homing be it free or otherwise does go to a responsible home that know its care.I really dont think money is the issue.
Its for the person re homing to be responsible enough to make sure that the animals going to the right home, not just get rid for getting rids sake be it for money or free.
But thats just my opinion I may be wrong.

well said melinda

now go run along child, melinda has turned over a new leaf n has done alot of good work resently, and i am sure her good work will continue.

i think all rehome should come with a small fee, as its a shame now a days but u just cant tell if homes r genuine as there is alot of dishonest people out there

Im not looking for nor wanting to buy any animals at the moment but if some thing came along that needed a new home and came with everything and caught my eye then I'd probably give it a home, a good knowledgeable home at that. So dont generalise!

and putting a 'rehoming fee' on there alienates the bad homes does it? no...... All a rehoming fee is, is selling the animal on but a little cheaper!

Word to that.

Cheap rehoming fees still attract the bad homes.........

we rehomed a staff that was abandoned in the house across the road, it was not our dog, i now know if we had put a rehome fee the people that got her wouldnt have wanted her as they just bred off her the 1st season she came into in there care, which was 3months into them having her, after the pups were all sold i think they sold her to, if i could turn back time we would have spayed her then rehomed her for the cost of the spay.

the people that came for her seemed really nice but they were just liers and used the poor dog to make money
