As for euros if the sale was stated and agreed in ££ then dont accept euros.

But if your dealing with people in england/wales/scotland their going to be thinking pounds yes? And usually sellers dont state their currency or dont feel the need to.

If he does try and pay in euros be ready with the up to date exchange rate, you never know it might be a swiz to get items even cheaper. But agree a deal done in one currency shouldnt be changed over. For example when I go to hamm show I dont expect to pay in pounds.
