Only just read this thread, to me it seems like a scam aswell.

Advertise them with false weights to get a higher price
Get the money sent as a gift so theres no dispute
Only give email + phone details out so you are untraceable

Backfired though didnt it lol, Im assuming craig bred these animals, so he should therefore know what a 500g animal feels/ looks like, uncomparable to a 126g animal.

Any updates from Paypal? Should be an open & shut case I would have thought, due to the evidence and clear mistrepresentation.

No, Craig didn't breed the animals, because "Craig Ford" never existed in the first place - it's an alias of John McCulley... we know they're 08s from Bob Clark and that, before they came to us, they'd not seen a regular feed in the UK.

As far as Paypal goes, we were given £48 as a refund, and dropped the remainder of the dispute because there was no point in chasing Callum for money that Callum didn't have and that John didn't want to give to him. There's another thread about this now, because it's not just us that "Craig Ford / Jonnyboy" screwed over by misrepresentation.

Man, Id have chased him for more than that, it might even be the same person, and even if it isnt its not your problem. £800 went into the account, so theres money around somewhere, its the paypal guys job to get the money from craig not yours, if it ruins them as friends, again not your fault.

They must be pretty close if he paid for his car tax, trusting that he would get it back.

Well, to be perfectly honest, Stuart... I'm an adult and a realist.

Chasing someone for money that isn't in the person's paypal account and isn't even *for* the person you paid (as such) ... well, it's just going to be a problem all around. Callum, though he might well be friends with John, doesn't deserve to have £860 of his money in his bank account tied up, and no amount of "give me back the money" would have produced the refund we wanted in a reasonable time.

You see, although I am confident that PayPal would have seen things our way, if the money isn't in the PP account, there's no way they COULD have gotten the refund to us - which means we'd never have gotten the small refund we DID get. Callum DID offer an additional £30 of his own money, but we have since refused that on principle. It wasn't him that misadvertised the snakes, messed us around with the courier and refused to contact us about the issue afterwards.

Im a realist too, paypal will refund you from their funds, and then chase callum for the money they gave to you. So whether he has the money or not you get the refund if the case is awarded to you.

Anyways, we know to stay well clear and double check things before handing money over.
