The main problem is that the likelihood is the seller wont have the money anymore in which case it causes problems for both of you.
Still, the responsibility is his and not yours.

Default re: grossly exaggerated weights

i`m also a victim of "CRAIG FORD PYTHON MAN"... before i had even opened the travelling box, i commented to the courier that it wasnt as heavy as i was expecting...
this is what i was supposed to be purchasing / and this is what i recieved
0.1 yellowbelly 400+gr / actual 261gr
0.1 fire 300gr / actual 115gr
0.1 fire 300+gr / actual 104gr
total advertised 1kg+, total recieved 480gr!!!!!!!!!
both of the 2 fires had obviously not fed for a long long time, and an hour or so after the courier had left, i fed them both sucessfully (bearing in mind they had been "on the road" for 18+ hours)
these came on the same delivery run as Ssthisto`s animals (this is NO FAULT of the delivery company, they are not to blame for anything), but i have spoken to them, and they`l not be dealing with "CRAIG FORD PYTHON MAN" again..... in a way i was lucky, because i was supposed to pay the balance on delivery, approx 25%, (providing the animals were as advertised, ie: correct sex, weight and healthy) needless to say, the balance will NOT be going to "CRAIG FORD PYTHON MAN", and, if he wants to take me to court, thats absolutely fine with me. i`ll be there, will he???

finally, just want to say.............. WARNING.... ANYONE WHO IS THINKING OF PURCHASING ANIMALS FROM CRAIG FORD PYTHON MAN, MAKE 100% SURE YOU SEE THE ANIMALS WITH YOUR OWN EYES, OR YOU COULD POSSIBLY REGRET IT....
i hope the mods take a good look at this thread, because this is the sort of person who give rfuk a bad name

I understand that if you dont drive it makes things a bit more expensive to get there and back, but that would have been the only money paid out at the time. Once you had seen the snakes were not as advertised you could haggle a reasonable price or just not bought them if they were not what you needed. As it is now you have paid out alot more money which you may not get a refund on and the snakes are not what you require for your breeding prog. Im not having a go mate, i sympathise with you because this type of thing should not happen if people who are in the same hobby were honest with each other.
I hope he is decent enough to refund you some of your money and it has a happy ending
Thats all good saying it now, but at the time you expect people to be honest. I mean you can say if you had driven there and seen them. then of course you would realise, but prior to that when your led to believe they are what they are and youve had photos and spoken directly to him, then it dont seem back

that post certainly was a long read but very important and hopefully will stop others from doing the same thing
By the way your gramar is brillant

i hope you get a refund...to be honest you should get a full one for the time you have had wasted. like buying a 3 seater sofa and only get a beanbag.

sorry that you got messed around by him. What ever happened to the good old days where keepers used to help eachother and reptile keeping was about all coming together as a community

I've spent too much time reading the Faunaclassifieds "Board of Inquiry" - where visual proof and clear explanations of the situation are a necessity.

It certainly has taught me a lesson - not to buy animals based on photos that don't have something for size comparison in them (and I'll make sure that my for-sale photos have something of known size, like a ballpoint pen, coin or something like that, in them) unless I'm going to meet the seller in person.

At least reading things like the BOI and the Classifieds Chat threads here DID make me aware of people asking for PayPal payments to be sent as "gifts" - and the potential pitfalls.

yes i refuse to ever send money as a 'gift' too because ultimately if youve said its one, then how are you to say any different.

I think asking for photos of the animals on the scales with the weight showing isnt too much to ask either though with some people just getting a photo or a rough weight can be hard enough.

Wow, that sucks, really feel sorry for you.
I just can't believe the guy actually thought he would get away with it.

the thing is rfuk is an open site, people can advertise and do and say pretty much what they like you cant blame rfuk, they monitor situations and deal with them......if a snake/lizard is sent and isnt what it should be the blame solely lies with the seller not rfuk.i'm sure they would have stepped in if they thought you was gettin ripped off.......maybe you should go to trading standards providing he is a licenced buisness?

i feel for you both and i hope you dont have to deal with anything like this again.

Far as I'm aware he's a private seller, Stu... not a business.
