Jonnyboy certainly managed to make someone think he'd been logging in and posting as you - so if he didn't, doesn't and hasn't ever accessed your account, he's lied to someone about having done so.

That tag was added by RFUK moderation when they noticed Jonnyboy and Noah's Ark had the same IP despite each pretending to have nothing to do with the other. If you'd taken the time to read through the whole thread properly, you'd have seen the many reasons why John was hiding his identity.

I guess you didn't take the time to read the quotes from other users then? He's received goods and never paid for them. Taken payments for goods then supplied goods of lower value and supplied animals so horrifically sick that they died that same night and refused any sort of refund. This isn't just about one or two people he's ripped off over a couple of snakes, he's been doing this for many months and laughing at people while he gets away with it.

if it can be proven. he's bought something and sold it on but if he's paid cash and sold for cash its going to be pretty difficult to prove.

He's buying the royals from Bob Clark, hard to pay cash to someone in America. They were brought in through cold blooded and there is the huge stream of classified ads he put on writing, as well as all the PMs, emails, PayPal transactions and bank transfers.

Plus, that has nothing to do with a bunch of forum detectives holding their own kangaroo court.

Ah... so we should have just put it down to experience, kept our heads down and moved along? How many more people would get scammed if nobody said anything? 10? 20? 50?

People like John can only pull off their scams if people adopt that attitude and it's the only reason he's been getting away with it until now. It was amazing how many people contacted us about him after we mentioned our issues publicly. Scammers need to be exposed so that other people don't fall prey to them. I'm as against witch hunts as anyone else but John has been ripping off enough people in enough ways that this is far from that.

i'm not defending what he's done but this has all started because he lied to you about some snakes he was selling. it's like Miss Marple on speed.

Yes, that's how it started. Unfortunately, that was only the tip of the iceberg. I don't really care about what happened to us, I could afford to spend the money and we know we can raise the snakes well from this point on. My first and foremost concern at this point is that nobody else gets stung by one of John's attempts to exploit the good faith of other keepers.

His crimes appear to be:[*]buying snakes and selling them

In an illegal manner, with absolutely no regard to the welfare of the animals involved.

[*]having a few forum names

For the sole purpose of deliberate and calculated deception to allow him to shift as many animals as possible and repeat scams he has already been caught at under other usernames.

[*]starting a courier company

This isn't a crime, though breaking agreed contracts, repeatedly lying to and deceiving customers, and showing no regard for animal welfare is certainly something to frown upon. Not to mention the conflict of interests involved and as I've already mentioned (if you've read it), I'd love to see his DEFRA license and relevant insurance documents.

Deliberately and repeatedly for undue financial gain while laughing at people for the fact he's been able to get away with it for so long.

out of all the points the only thing i can see wrong is that he's lied about the weight of the snakes to obtain money by (possibly) deception as a lower weight snake isn't worth as much.

No possibly about it, please Meko, actually read the information before commenting on it. That has all already been explained. He knew from Bob that the snakes he was shipping were unusually small and John was laughing at the fact he was advertising them as 300g to sell them and get better prices. This hasn't just happened once, he's been repeating it for months so there's nothing accidental about it.

No Callum, they aren't made up. They are based on accounts from people we have no reason to doubt and who have no reason to lie to us.

You on the other hand have publicly lied about the connection between John and Noah's Ark Couriers (when you knew the truth of it), repeatedly defended someone you knew was scamming people and made the choice to deliberately withhold information to protect them. None of that makes you look very credible.

Granted, you've helped try to resolve the PayPal dispute but that really was in your best interest as it affected your account and your funds. Your assistance to that degree is the only reason we've already dropped the primary dispute filed against your PayPal account.

Guess the mods can keep an eye out for other alt accounts. All easily done with inbuilt VB software. Caught many people with this in my moderating days on various forums.

Certainly will make me think twice about buying from here again though. My only snake purchase went without a hitch mind, as Stephen is a top guy, which his feedback clearly suggests.

I really hope it doesn't put people off in general. I bought three royals before dealing with John and another two immediately after. Both sales went without a hitch, great folks and snakes exactly as described (in one case, better). I think everyone just needs to keep their wits about them and look out for each other so scammers are exposed as quickly as possible.

Follow your instincts, if something doesn't seem quite right, it probably isn't and is at least worth taking basic precautions over and double checking.

Hello Stu

Callum (CrazyCallum) was the person that Jonnyboy/Craig/Noah's Ark asked us to send the PayPal payment to. He also spoke to Jonnyboy on our behalf regarding a refund; this was due to the PayPal disputes we raised against the payments (which, as they were paid to his account, inconvenienced his account directly) and he has obtained a partial refund of £48 which has been sent back to us. It's not what we think is a fair amount - but as anyone knows, life's not fair.

As far as we can tell Callum is a separate person and is NOT an alias of Jonnyboy.

I have had dealings with jonnyboy and he is an arse. He threateee to smash my windows and kick my door down just over a disagreement with snakes. I have had snakes off him that were burnt badly and covered with mites. The snakes are fine now and doing well.
