Unfortunately paypal never sees things the same way. You have proof of postage but you dont have proof of receipt as it wasnt sent recorded delivery if it goes to dispute paypal will favour the buyer. I have had this in the past and ended up out of pocket yet everything else I sent at the same time arrived. I now only send recorded delivery even for the smallest of things. So proof of postage is worth nothing when selling an item anymore.

Thanks for all of the replies I got in contact with Paypal and they have said that they are in favour of the other party as i did not send recoreded delivery even though she didnt state it.

I am going to have to try and claim back now from RM which is a pain when it wasnt my fault. I will deffinalty not be using Paypal from now on as I think they are always in favour of the scammers. Guess I have learnt my lesson from this and will not be sending first class in future even if asked too.

Thanks again for all the supportive commets

Have you spoken to paypal again since this afternoon hun when you left comments on the dispute?

I would contact them again and, if possible, send them a copy of the mail between yourself and the buyer and also send a pic/copy of the proof of postage and the claim form for RM.

Surely Paypal should revise this stupid policy that favours the scammers of the world

Paypal is an arse!, once a claim is raised the only thing paypal recognise or you can enter in responce is a tracking nimber or proof of delivery, proof of postage os often not accepted, even if postage is free, its dead easy to scam sellers like this.
Had this a couple of times with them and felt like taking all the way to court, think i will give watchdog a call.........!

I've had a dispute against me before and Paypal decided there wasnt enough evidence either way and closed it. so they can make decisions like that. As long as you keep your eye on the despute respond promptly and accurately. They'll possible just throw the dispute back to royal mail.

yeah i have responded to paypal today again with all the details off the reciept i have incuding the address of the post office i sent i to and the date and time ect and even the weight of the parcel.

Brit-will try and get in touch with them tommorow via email and try and send them all the pm's off here and the reciept to

I definalty think that i a phonecall to watchdog is in order. I have found paypal to be just as bad as the scammers that scam us. They have never resolved any of my problems just been on the scammers side as in this case also.

i'm pretty sure it works that way although not 100%. Until the recipient accepts delivery of it it's still the property of the seller.

hi
this happend to me on here last month and because i only got proof of postage as i only sent item normal 1st class instead of recorded 1st class paypal said because it wasnt sent recorded delivery i lost the claim as the buyer was trying to claim her money back saying she never recieved item even tho everyone else did, she won the claim because paypal will only except a recorded delivery as proof of postage.
hope this helps

Thanks that's great. I guess I am going to loose the claim then as I am in the exact situation as you at the moment. I will just have to take this as a lesson learnt in future and be careful who I trust and I doubt I will be using paypal again.

It just strikes me as a little bit weird that I sent parcels to another person the same time as I sent Reptile_heavens and they have recieved there's fine so it makes me think that Reptile_heaven has recieved the bags and want the money and the bags

The only thing you can do, (if paypal stil lets you) is withdraw your funds and close the account.

If you cannot do this, inform paypal of what you are doing, then make an official compaint to relevent parties, as well as the likes of watchdog (ive known 2 people get money back from that one, so its worth a shot). All you got left...i stopped seling via paypal some time ago (i will happily buy through it funnily enough though )
