Default Advice please regarding issues with another member

I had some bags for sale and was contacted by reptiles_heaven with regards to her buying some off me.

We agreed on a price including standard postage which she agreed to.

I got proof of postage from the post office whent hey were sent along with proof of postage for other parcels being sent the same day.

Reptiles_Heaven has now said that said bags did not arrive and has attempted to claim the money back from my paypal account.

I have been as fair as possible and have offered to put in a claims form with Royal Mail on her behalf as well as offering to drive to her hosue and show her the prrof of postage which has her post code on as is standard practice with RM now.

All of the other people who I posted to that day received their parcels within good time via 1st class so it makes me wonder if this is the case here and the buyer jst wants her cake and eat it!

Anyone got any advice please as I can't get through to paypal.

proof of postage just means you posted them. So the only person that may be able to lie is reciever. There is nothing they can do. You have proof you sent them and even if they didnt recieve them not your fault. If they agreed standard delivery they would/should know the risks.

They should be claiming money off RM not off you, you completed your side of the deal.

Good luck in finding a solution!

I know thats what i thought. I even got the form and said that i would claim it for them even though Royal Mail said for them to do it as its them that havent recieved the said goods.

They would have got there money back through Royal Mail anyway but now I am out of pocket both ways.

The seller has to make the claim as it's still their property until the recipient receives them.

Oh right. Thats not what the woman in the post office said. I have the form here anyway so I was willing to claim on the other partys behalf but that still wasnt good enough.

If they have started a Paypal dispute you will get your chance to answer it.
All you have to tell Paypal is you have proof of postage, you offered to go out of your way to show her it and have offered to help her place a claim with RM.
It seems like you are being very fair and completely by the book.

Hi there - I am an ebay seller and have had a few probs over the years with people claiming they haven't recieved things. Due to the way paypal are set up if a customer buys from u using paypal they can claim back thier money if they claim they have not recieved it. this can be rectified by getting in touch with paypal and sending proof of postage to paypal direct upon thier request (ive known this process to take upto 30days to get your money back that a customer claimed back from you!) DO NOT send proof of postage to the customer as they have made a claim with paypal and if you send the p.o.p to the customer you wont have a leg to stand on if they say they dont recieve the p.o.p. send a photo copy to the customer if they/you desire. save and print all emails from customer to send to paypal including the ones you stated you would help assist a claim to royal mail because this goes in your favour. also do a covering letter for paypal including all communication had prior during and after the transaction - express how you said clearly you would assist in a claim to Royal mail.
hope this info helps.
kind regards Abby
ps: if you go down the route of royal mail claim they need the original proof of postage which is kinda difficult if you need to send it to paypal as proof you did your job posting the item.
