am I being scammed

I bought a scorp of a member on here - he told me he posted it first class recorded on Friday - it didnt arrive on Sat - so I waited until Monday - still not here. I PM'd the OP to ask for the tracking number from the recorded delivery receipt and they tell me they cant find it.

Maybe it will arrive today (I kind of regret having ordered an animal through the post) - but if not, when would be the appropriate time to request a refund?

I dont want to rush into accusing the OP of not sending, but I am a bit concerned of the two coincidences - ie not being delivered - coupled with a lost recorded delivery reciept

I'd give it a couple of days yet, Royal Mail can be useless at times, i've waited ages for things sent first class before.

Always use Special Delivery - its more costly BUT they have to deliver before 1pm the next day AND collect a signature. Recorded delivery doesn't always mean they get a signature as daft as that seems.

if posted on a Friday, 1st class would not have got to you Saturday. Even next day signed for wouldn't have turned up till monday unless you had paid the extra for guarenteed Saturday delivery.

I get a lot of eggs via the post and 99% won't send eggs out after Thursday, and I thought that people would do the same with live foods and inverts.

Without tracking number he has no proof he sent so he wont be able to contact royal mail to investigate.

id give it till friday and if you receive nothing then a full refund is in order.

the person who sent lost his proof and right to claim royal mail so he/she is responsible therefore for refunding you.

Hope you do receive your animal though.

i thought royal mail weer quite good .. they delivered me my mealworms on a sunday because it had live insects on a label .. guess they didnt want insects in the facotry

If he sent it via recorded delivery there will be a tracking number printed on the senders receipt. Get them to recheck the receipt.

And with special delivery postman pat is fairly likely to do the delivery himself!
