It takes a lot of effort to do this and get this right, I'm not saying he got it wrong in anyway but who knows what would have happened had he just persevered against the doubters and proven his service I think he would have done well. He wouldn't have won everyone over but think he would have had enough work. Steve |

If his bike was properly set up it could have worked for him. As it was it was just a regular plastic bike compartment with some hot water bottles and a plastic tub with a piece of bubble wrap on the lid filled with screwed up newspaper.
If you want to offer a specialist service, make a good investment in your equipment and look professional. He was a very nicve guy though, just a shame he said he would turn up in a heated van and turned up on an ill equipped bike.

Anyway getting side tracked if he said that he was turning up in a heated van and he turned up in that, that's not on. And although I've not got any problem with motorbike couriers in principle to transport animals you would need to go the extra TWO miles! Although motorbikes are commonly used by couriers there's a big difference between transporting paperwork and animals! |

when we started out 3 years ago, people were skeptical....and rightly so, but it took a lot of hard work and we finally had the trust of our customers. our customers always come first i.e. when a potential customer rang to say he was cancelling cos he felt our communication with him was not good enough, did i come on the forum and slag nim off, no i offered to do the 500 mile round trip for free, to prove to him we were reliable, we were just overwhelmed by our workload. when doing a bulk run and one or two pull out last minute, do we cancel everybody else, no we do the run as arranged at a loss for ourselves, but our customers always come first. i really dont know how you can turn up to collect a reptile and be told that they not available for 2 hours!!!!! we contact customers whether it be pick up or drop off and arrange a conveinient time for us both, we have never been left waiting 2 hours to collect because we communicate every step of the way.
i have nothing against exotic express or any other up and coming courier service, but a word of advice from one whos been there done that..........your customer is always right.

to be fair, the collection time was 100% NOT his fault, it was the fault of the person who arranged that time because they didn't read their emails properly...
