You are correct Lucy, what I should have written was "I find it odd that any vet would not have an animal in for an emergency consultation after the said animal was resuscitated after it's heart had stopped along with it's breathing."

I've always found Emma to be really nice (on here) and she's always sounded devoted to her animals. Maybe with so many, and now she is working, she is struggling a bit?

I really hope it all gets sorted out for everyone concerned.

why would emma change vets as from what she said the vet she had was great, helped save the skunk and looked after nuka the husky....i have not sold to emma or met her but i did donate to the nuka fund but tbh after all this coming to light i am wondering if the money that was donated to the nuka fund was acctually used for the dog or not, i am not saying it wasnt but the seed of doubt is there now

Supporting people before you know what they are REALLY like has been one of my downfalls.. from now on i will make 100% sure I make decisions based on visual accounts with photogrpahic evidence over periods of months or years regarding peoples animal husbandry / or buying selling issues... without doing that you can definately side with the wrong people because they SEEM great over a forum. I cannot remain friends with people whose animal husbandry anmd abilities are queationable irrespective of their pshycological needs to overcrowd their home with more animals than they can properly deal with.

At the end of the day people can appear good keepers and good buyers/sellers when they simply are not.. not just on ONE day , or ONE occasion but repeatedly with recurring issues.. financial and otherwise..
It is also sad to see excellent keepers spiral out of control taking on way more than they can genuinely cope with but refusing to admit the issues.
However things stop adding up.. holes appear and everyone can eventually see through it, when this happens NO excuse is appropriate. There will always be a reason but not an excuse. A good hard look at themselves and WHY they are unable to cope with finances relating to buying more animals or husbandry is essential.. as it is relating to vet treatment..

I hope this thread has highlighted that for Emma J and others.

It does make you wonder why the vets was changed... Did she owe them too much money.... Maybe they raised concerns over other matters... I find it strange that someone would change vets when the current vet seemed to have such a good track record... Anyway, I guess only Emma knows why.

Tbh, I have seen this thread coming for a while sadly. I have heard of similar stories from people who do not keep reptiles, or mammals and who are not members of this forum. After a while, when you hear so many similar things about the same person, it does leave doubt as to their credibility. I think the only way for Emma to regain that now, is to post proof of the post mortem being carried out ASAP, the longer this continues, the more of s shadow is cast over you Emma.

I also have to say, if there are members of this forum who feel they are owed money by anyone from sales made through this forum, they are free to pass on information they have to any of the moderating team, and we will look into the matter. Whilst we cannot do much about getting any money owed back, we also do not allow people with a poor reputation to continue to use the classifieds section.

I know neither Pouchie or Emmaj personally but I think Pouchie has done the right thing warning people. I also think as the breeder she has the right to know what happened to the wee skunk. Just my opinion but I don't think anyone should have any pet IF they can't provide it with the care, time and attention it needs(including vet treatment when required). But unfortunately that would only happen in an ideal world

i completly agree Fixx. No vet would turn away an animal in that must distress and if they did, they would be breaking god knows how many codes of practise.

To owe people money for animals that they have not fully paid for in bad enough, but then to buy more animals on tick too is just not right. clearly Emmaj has money problems, so i wonder how she manages to pay for vet treatment for say however many dogs she has, however many skunks and whatever else she has, if she cant afford to pay for an animal in full.

I think instead of spending money you dont have on exotics, you should perhaps thinhk about paying back some of the money for some of your animals???

I know money is tough and everything at the moment, but im not going out buying more exotics, even though i truly want some more.

And on that note, tis rodent room day today so im off to clean

ps, the vet thing, im pretty sure emma has changed vets? not sure if this is true and if it is why, or even if theres any relevance in that but there ya go
I've been to Emma's three times at different times of the day and indeed different days during the week.
On the first ocassion it was still really bad although not as bad as on the last ocassion.
She did comment that the skunk doo was from only having left them for 30 minutes.!
Having had 30-40 house ferrets that had free roam for over 4 hours a day they never produced that much poop.
She didnt' say it was cleaning day and indeed went straight back upto her mothers house as I left. Which is where she was when I got there.
I'm not going into details as she apparently can't get on here herself but enough to say the downstairs was not the only place I went and it was just as bad upstairs. To the point I did not use the toilet and I was absolutely pee'ing myself.

Having said that if that is the way a person chooses to live then it is upto them but I would not want my animals, nor my children, to have to live in that kind of squalor.

I have wondered if Emma and the bairn actually live with her mother, using herhouse as an 'animal house', as I find it almost impossible to concieve she would have her son live in the house as it was when I last visited.

I can only reiterate that I hope Emma can sort everything out as she does not intend to cause harm or suffering to her pets in any way and obviously is a very caring person. It's just not fair on the herself, her son or the animals to have so many without the ability to cope with them.

I recently decided to cut down on a few animals I had as my OH is in and out of hospital so I am not able to manage the ones who need most care. I therefore cut down by around 20+ animals.
I realised and acted within a few weeks so as not to cause any harm to the animals in question.

How recently has Emma changed her vet????
