TIP - Cut two 2" holes either side of coconut shell using hole cutter BEFORE sawing in half and you have two hides ready made except for scraping out the coconut for wild birds in your garden.

DONT FORGET to wear PPE (Personel Protective Equipment) when using tools.

lol, have done one coconut so far, sick of eating it already.

On the other hand though the hides are great and for 29p each it cant be bad.

Dont know if you can freeze coconut??? Just an idea to stop you eating the contents of all 10 at once and becoming ill -

With mine i have tied some Java Fern on to them. Roots are now showing signs of establishing themselves within the nut shell. Just an idea for you if are using as underwater hides.

59p a bit expensive for coconuts. Our market does 3 for £1 and I think they're 49p in morrisons.

What I want to know is how they do the hides which consist of an intact shell with just a 2 inch diameter hole. How do they get the flesh out? I suppose you could hang it up for the birds, or bury it in an ants nest?
