I was on there but i dont bother anymore becouse there like a gang on there blocking your posts or locking them so you cant reply if they dont agree with what your saying.
I would just stick to the mantidfroum as most of the top breeders from all over the world are on there
& they go buy experience rather then he said she said

but if man-ti is on here please let me know who lars is
& i will try them if you have a care sheet

I'm a moderator and advisor on UKMF Mantid forum, I am 43 and have been keeping mantids since i was ten, of coarse that doesn't make me an expert but i am bloody good at it even if i do say so myself, experience. So we dont need to steal husbandry advise from any one. We also have quite a few other mods and advisors who are top in the world entoculturists in my opinion and many other mods and members who have many years of experience.
Sounds like hard cheese to me lol what was your user name on ukmf and we can get to the bottom of this. You cannot go around slagging people of with out some evidence.
If you were advised that a species was hard to keep by an advisor or mod on our forum that was good advise to help you from wasting your money, ofcoarse what you do is entirely up to you but you had asked for the advise but din't like it lol

I'm also a Mod on UK mantis forum and I'm 31, don't think we have any mods under the age of 25.
Always wondered how people like Rob Byatt, Birdfly, Graham Smith, Gurd (me too I suppose) etc.. found out how to care for their insects, using the US Mantid Forum never thought of that.

Hope you had success with the Meticulus splendius

Racks full of mantids in my shed, shame I have no experience to look after them, thank god for what he said she said!

From one of the bunch of!

I think this is the thread that you are referring to Metallyticus splendidus very rare - UK Mantis Forums Perhaps anyone reading this should make up their own minds as to the advice given here.
I'm 50 btw, kept my first mantis in 1983 i think.
I would however like to know what evidence you have that most of our mods are under 20?

Just like to say sorry to the owners of RFUK for us having to defend ourselves here..

Im very proud to be a moderator on our very own UK based mantis forum. I am a member of MANY forums including the US mantidforum and i have to say UKMF is by far superior in my opinion. Theres a greater concentration of people who actually do know there stuff. Plus theres the advantage of bringing those together with harder to obatain and more difficult species within the uk, strenghening the hobby here. Its also nice to be a member of a great community where you'll find the vast majority of friendly members get on with each other without the incident.

As for mantidforum.net having "the greatest breeders from the world" on there, yes theres one or two, but exactly one or two, you'll find that they are soon drowned out by the sheer amount of idiots pretending to know it all and giving out false information. You'll soon notice its hypocritical community who would rather kick you to google than to take their own time to educate newbies as do our members.

This statement is completely the wrong way around...

People get experience by listening to these "no it all" (I believe you'll find that its spelt "Know it all's") and then following their advise. Through this your be put on the right track and who know's, some time down the line you may be experianced enough to attempt such difficult species.
They DO NOT get experiance by diving in at the deep end with extremely hard to keep species and more money than sence, and then confused and complaining when it all goes wrong, believe me this i know.
