In the end I had covered the cost of the snake and let it go more cheaply to someone I knew who really wanted it but didnt have the cash at the time, he is still there happy as anything with an owner that is thrilled to bits.

I think you get different kinds of timewasters
- the dreamers that could never really afford it (I definately get these)
- the mind changers who have plenty of money but change to a different fad each week (I think these are the type I get most)
- the researchers that can afford it and want it but have looked into say how big they grow or how much care they need
- the wrong ones that seem intent on forever out to waste everyones time

Feel free to add you own kind to the list

One more to add - the ones that see something and think 'Ooooo Id like that', and commit to buying it, then because they cant come for a week or two, or because the snake isnt quite ready ( although they were told that at the time ) they lose interest and start looking at other snakes and find one nearer or that is ready now...... and go for that one instead despite having told the original seller they 'definately want it'

Default re time wasters

this has happened to me a couple of times
1 person actually came to house agreed to let them go for £10 less
said he was going to bank to get deposit and would we hold them till wed as he was going away (this was frid)
never turned up never e-mailed or pm'd or phoned
apparently he had also been in contact with my friend for something off him and never got back
BIG TIME WASTER

I feel quite bad when i ask about things, e.g, snakes, because i show interest but i think (and hope) that i always get in touch to politely decline, if anyone reading this has had interest from me about anything and i didn't get back to them then i am extremely sorry about that.

On a lighter note, everyone i've bought something from has been great, i suppose equipment etc isn't as much hassle as the livestock is.

Well this could be avoided by not holding thing's for people and keeping them for sale untill they are actually sold, I inquire about alot of item's but then if something better come's along i will take it. Although i always notify people if i change my mind.

It's business at the end of the day you go with the best deal possible, It's not hard nor mean to say "I need the money as fast as possible, if they have not sold by the date you can pick them up then you can have them"

The guy was being a jerk for not letting you know the deal was off, but then again that's life and on forum's i generally dont believe anything untill it's happend.

There is an awful lot of difference between enquiring, and stating you will buy. Then asking to buy a second snake and securing a discount.

The purpose of my thread was primarily to say that although we are requested not to have 'public slanging matches' and to keep things 'person to person' via PM or email, that I found it impossible to do this as the person concerned switched off their PM and emails on his profile. I have asked the administrator to send an email on my behalf which has been done, and I have left negative feedback. Meantime Jay-Jay, I have re advertised one of the snakes and sold him. He is now in a good home with a reliable member.

Still think your getting a little worked up over something that really isnt that big of a deal. Like you said you sold one of the snake's pretty fast this thread isnt necessary really. leaving bad feedback would of been enough. IMO.
