Default rack ideas

Had a mate of mine approach me today about building racks similar to that of pro rack etc
They will be made to hold rubs, prob 50s, 33s, 18s, 9s and 5s

Just want a bit of feedback of people that would be interested in buying these ie what do you want from the rack, how many levels? Would it be better if it came apart etc etc

We are gonna have a go through sizes etc this week and will be building a few for myself so peeps can have a look at them, i will be having 3 ten level 50ltr ones and one to hold 18s,9s and 5s

Like i said we have only just disscussed this today but we will be getting stright onto it and will advertise ones we have mine complete we just need a little bit of input of people that would be buying

cheers

just been reading this RECS thing, when we get this off the ground we will be aiming to deliver ourselves so will be cash on delivery, will obviously need a small deposit but the bulk will be cash when you have the item just.

With a lot of scamming going round i think this is the best way to do it, plus we will be doing this between 3 of us so we wont take on too much coz dont wanna dissappoint people

Sounds interesting I am in the market for a new hatchling and grow on rack at the moment.

For me I only use 9L, 18L and 33L rubs and thats for royals mainly.

I would want good ventilation so a mesh top, lidless rack of course and preferably with in built heating like a heat cable or mats. 8 tubs tall is a good height but I think if you just make them to customer specs with an option of some form of slot together system and a good price and you will be on to a winner but for me I would be happy with one fixed unit, but some bigger units to get them in the door they would have to be slot together

If you want a test run then I would love a 9L rack, 2 tubs wide, 8 tubs tall, maybe 10 tubs tall instead, cant go over 5ft from floor total as I am a short arse, on lockable castors with heating suitable for royals (mats or cable). If you can do that for a price cheaper than pro racks then you have your first sale. Will happily put up a small deposit with the bulk to be paid on delivery. Also really random thing can you spray coat the metal parts with black not white like pro racks do, I hate white racks

Let me know as I am looking at buying one within the next couple of months ready for next year. And if all goes well and the price is good there will be an 18L rack wanted as well.

i will be doing mine with the lids on but wont be a prob with lids off and a perf bottom on each shelf, like i said we will be going over things this week with hope to start on mine next so will have something for you to look at asap

Will ask him about black, again dont see it being a prob coz come to think about it i would prefer in black than white

We havent decided yet on if it will come with equipment ie tubs and heating but im sure it will be optional. I am having mine with a twin channel for the heat cable to sit in but will be able to do with heat matts too

right we have been having a go over things and have been looking at making some with the ikea tubs as we can do these lidless so they slide out like pro racks, cant do this with the rubs as they have a ridge on them so wouldnt slide if you understand. Can still do them with rubs either with or without lids though but wont slide like pro racks

a good thing for the racks is having maybe a viewing window? I mean like on the roof of each maybe see through perspex? So you can see straight into the enclosure when the one above is removed? does that even make sense? Sorry if it doesn't.

Also having the option to buy replacement parts is a godo thing. Everyone fears a breakage, but if you made them so you could put them down and move them and reconstruct it, that would be awesome.
