You can call them via telephone, and you'll find that they can be very helpful. If you are covered it doesn't matter if he has no funds in his account. Paypal will pay you if he doesn't provide a valid tracking number etc.

I have been in contact with paypal twice by telephone. They told me that because it is not through Ebay I will be covered by a "best effort basis" whatever that means?????

I could be wrong then. I thought they'd pay up if the seller was verified regardless of them not having funds in their account. Can anyone confirm this?

If you paid via paypal using your credit card you may be covered....

He has done me as well the Robbing Bard, I put in a complaint to paypal first thing, but all they will do is contact him to try and sort it out and then wait 30 days for a result, if he does nothing they try to get your money from his account, but if its empty you have had it,
I know he has bought leos from some on here so hopefully someone can come up with a valid address for him if they have delivered them to him.

I think the protection part your thinking about is if you buy something through ebay! and not independantly.

I think im in the same boat as the lot off you i paid £80 for a Herp II incubator on sat he text me saying he'll send it sat if not monday on 24hr parcel force but ive also tried ringing him since and nothing im so fd off i saved to get an item and then get screwed over he sent me his postcode when i said i'll sort parcel force out il find it and post it!!!!

i paid him by paypal too. imbmarine@hotmail.co.uk is what he sent me. i have just checked my paypal and the money is unclaimed. i have canceled it now. dont no why he never claimed it. just feel sorry for all of you lot who have lost money...
