Scammed, what should I do?
I purchased an item from a member and it turned out that he was a scammer and his thread was closed.
I paid for an item via paypal (sent as a gift) and I am wondering if there's any way to retreive the money that was sent? Because I sent it as a gift will this exclude me from making any claim? It wasn't a large amount of money by any means, just kind of frustrating. Thanks in advance.

Nope you just have to learn and be VERY carefull next time sorry hun.
Maybe naming the seller to warn other members would help you feel less like there is nothing you can do.

There is a very long thread about a scammer at the moment-There is a scammer working among us:-(
it is not the same one is it? It anoys me, its hard enough to sell on here at the moment without people misstrusting eachother because of these scammers.

You can still despute a payment even if it was sent as a gift just e-mail paypal.

The scum you refer to has scammed quite a few and you will get no joy from paypal as they cant get any money from him.
I am in the same boat as you as it wasnt a great deal of money however I will still try and catch up with him when I next go down to pompey if the address I have is correct.
