Not sure to be honest, but i really doubt he has sent it most likely its a tracking number of a parcel that will end up somewhere else.

The guy came on yesterday at 7 and Pm'd me, his exact words were:

can u send me your email on here please as i cant drag and drop them, phone is dead but will jump on here from time to time

Gave him a reply straight away and ever since no pm, no email, no receipt scan to say he has refunded me - a few text last night to say he hasn't got the time to scan it well he had the time to log on and pm me but not the time to scan a receipt. This guy is pretty clever with the words he uses, very convincing.

It's weird how he keeps replying to you. I would have thought a scammer would give no further contact once they have got the money!

I agree with the minimum 50 posts and 90 day sign up before you can sell in the classifieds. A lot of people are losing out on money!

He is sounding more like the Jimmy Pompey guy we had on here more and more as he tried the tracking number thing with everyone at first the dodgy mobile phone switching off etc etc his problem was we knew where he lived shame he wasnt dealt with properly. Do you still have his account details and mobile number?? If so let me know I will see if I can back track and find the details I have for Jim Clarke.

And this is what it says in the letter:

Hi, Sorry for any problems caused. Hope you recieve this and it ends the hastle.

Was the letter in a box? If it was then the postage on the label will show by the weight that the ps3 wasn't in there. Or was he dumb enough just to send the letter? In which case he's screwed.

Just the letter mate, oh wait when I went back downstairs I saw a cheque for the amount i paid him - could have sworn the cheque was not in the letter.

I'm ready to bet you right now that the cheque will bounce, not even 100% sure I should give the cheque in as i believe the charge the bank will put me in will be £25 if it bounces.

Pretty sure it's him that gets charged, you shouldn't get charged at all.

Hmmmm reading more about it on the web and from what I can see is that if it bounces then I get charged.

You get charged if the cheque dishonoured. If you sued him the charge would be recoverable on the basis it's a consequential loss. You can sue for the value of the cheque as per the Bills of Exchange Act 1890.
