It isnt untill he defaults on the ccj can the person owed take it back to court and get the court to get order the bailiffs in.

This is what happened in my experience when ive been owed money.
Not only that enforcing Civil Court Judgements is notoriously tricky.

In 2007 981,923 CCJ's were registered & only 128,346 were satisfied. Futhermore bailiffs only recovered 20.8p for every £ owed.

Yep, also if he owes £750 (i know it used to be) to various people he can just declare himself bankrupt. Which will write off all debts if he has no assets (car, owns his own home).

Which means that for a year he wont be able to get credit etc, but after that everything is reset. If you know the right places/banks to go to for rebuilding your credit rating it isnt that hard. Infact it can be easier now than recovering from CCj's and blacklisting which can take 6 yrs.

TBH all this stuff about this guy being a bailiff is laughable, i know he's trying to help but unless the scammer had already been taken to court the bailiff could do nothing without a court warrant.

The moral of the story is think long & hard before buying from a private individual with no track record of successful sales. If it seems too good to be true it almost certainly is.

If someone is declared bankrupt then I believe they are totally blacklisted for 5 years and cant have anything in their name for that whole time.
This is what I believe anyway but this might be wrong

not sure if its 5years but its certainly longer than a year, else everyone would be going bankrupt! Also declaring bankrupt messes a lot of things up in the future...hence money regarding inheritance, being a legal representative, regarding money, even with family members,

it used to be 6 yrs and still can be upto 6 yrs depending on the amount and how many times you have been bankrupt before.

But if this is your first time and it is a small amount (usually under 10k) you will be discharged after the first year if you have no assets and cannot repay any of the amounts outstanding (ie you are on a low income or are on benefits)

And for your information there are record amounts of people declaring themselves bankrupt for just these reasons. There are reputable companies which specialise in getting your credit rating sorted after being discharged and being a discharged bankrupt no longer holds the stigma it used to.

Also regarding work, inheritence etc...aslong as you are a discharged bankrupt there is no bars to stop you from working/claiming

I have a friend who was recently discharged (3 months ago) and has just bought a car on finance (not HP), so cannot be blacklisted.
