I'll just do a short reply on the forum so it doesn't look like I have ignored this thread and will reply to you (and any one else I haven't spoken to recently that I need to in full very soon).
I have not been around much at all recently due to a number of personal reasons but let me apologise for not getting back to you sooner.
I hope these personal problems are now in the past and you can expect the same level of service as you've had in the past such as Mark: Getting woken up by you at 2 in the morning and still answering and talking about Boiga and just about every other thing in the world for hours through the night!
And Sarah- Having you round viewing animals up to midnight- I don't think that's most peoples standard work hours! But as those of you that know me are aware Reptiles are more than work but a huge passion and I'm only too happy to spend time with you regardless of the time!
As I previously said anyone that I need to talk to expect contact very soon and anyone that has tried recently and not been able to get through please do now try and I am back
And finally to anyone that feels they have been purposefully ignoring them or not replying to emails etc I apologise for the lack on contact but as I previously said due to a number of serious personal problems I haven't been working so please don't think I have been simply ignoring you and expect usual service to resume now,

Well Laurie,it's been 10 days since your reply to this post and near enough 6 months since i paid my initial deposit,and still i'm waiting for my refund.On the now 3 occasions you've bothered to reply in that time,you've said on each you'll be making contact SOON.I think mine and your perception of the meaning SOON are two entirely different meanings.

If you remember correctly you had late texts and phone calls from me regarding our last transaction with the Boiga tanahjampeana and irregularis because then,as now,i received little if no contact from you and the first planned delivery date never transpired.

We all go through periods having personal problems,if i told you all of mine i'm having at the moment i'd have you weeping.

It took me literally only a couple of minutes to pay you deposits by Direct Bank Transfer,how much longer is it going to take you to refund them?

Any reply other than "I'll get back to you soon" would be appreciated.

This mirrors my experience. I have been trying to resolve an outstanding order for 5 snakes, worth £300, for over a year now. I have failed to establish communication with Laurie Paul through my 2 phone numbers/his 2 phone numbers/my 2 emails/his email & by writing to his land address. All requests for him to respond to my messages have met with nil response, except one email that threatened court action.

Of the 5 snakes I ordered, 3 died before they could be sent. Their replacements also died before they could be sent. 2 that were sent died within a fortnight. 1 arrived "bubbling" and died within 3 days. the other developed the same symptoms a few days later and died about 10 days after arriving.

I am about to prepare a document that includes copies of all correspondence and present it to both my local County Court and the licensing department for Select Reptiles.

Hello my situation has still not been resolved either since i last posted. We have had 2 emails since he posted on this thread and it has now been at least 4 months since it all started. Its very stressful as we cannot purchase another tree monitor until we get the money back from him or a replacement as was promised and our green tree is getting bigger . We are now looking down the legal route as both his numbers have seemingly been disconnected, he ignores his front door (even though the lights and tv are on) and ignores all emails we have sent. Its such a shame as when we first met him we thought he was a top guy really genuine but without ANY contact at all we can only think he has ripped us off. Have any of you guys had any luck with contact? I have heard he has been abroad but he has still been able to update his facebook!!!!!

Here's an update.Late though it maybe,of my situation with Laurie,and i'm sorry it's taken so long for me to post this,but i'd honestly and completley forgot about this thread untill i came to look in this section regarding another thread i'd made a few weeks back,and noticed this as been bumped again.

I managed to speak to Laurie in the first week of last month,we chatted,both spokes of our woe's and troubles for as good or as long as you can by phone without either of us stringing ourselves up.

He told me/promissed i would recieve a refund within the next couple of days,HE DID HOLD TO THAT PROMISE,ALL MONEY AS BEEN PAID BACK IN FULL,and with apologies.Belated thankyou Laurie if/when you get to read this.


Trevor Smith,i feel gutted for you,this is not like the Laurie i thought i knew,and,i imagine,the people who still speak to,and know of him on this forum and other forums.All,as much as myself,will be gobsmacked by your post.Crap at busines/communication he most certainly is/was.He assured me he had sold/found homes for all animals in his care before deciding to leave the hobby temporarily.In his defence,the WC Boiga i received from him a year ago are thriving.I felt fortunate taking his hold back Boiga tanahjampeana last year,if he saw it today he'd have wished he'd never have parted with it or left the hobby!!

So what's the crack now?

I'm basically computor and forumite illiterate.No,i really am a duffer when it comes to stuff like this.How do i stop this thread?Is it not a case of mine and Laurie's issues resolved,and anybody with issues with him to start their own?Like i said at the start of this thread,i was loath to post it,i can't really comment on any other involvement in his life,and hope he has the decency to sort out any resolving isssues with folk he has done business with,and hope he does so with the grace he finally has done with me.

Am flummexed now,just when you thought it could all be over..........

Well i'm glad you resolved your problem with him, Just hope he has the decentsey to do the same with me and anyone else he may have outstanding issues with. He's currently in america (so i'm told) so god knows when that could end up being. It seems pursueing legal action looks likely, as waiting this long without so much as a word in 3 months is ridiculous.

legal action may be your only alternative its obvious this guy is avoiding everybody, he has to go out sooner or later ppl like this make me sick
