Just thought that i might come here and clear up a few little things.

These thermostats are not a scam, i am taking no money from anyone. These will be paid for in stores around the UK. These stores have not yet been finalised and a website with the list will be active within the next 2 weeks.

The picture that you can see is not photoshopped it is real, it is not a working model it is the design prototype that had to be built to get the design rights in place.

this panel that you can see plugs into another unit behind the vivarium, this is where all the cables go, that way there out of sight.
Pictures of this module will be available on monday when i get the first off from the production run.

They can do what i say they can, Release date is 13/09/2010 because im waiting on the last few software updates to be done before release.
These have been CE approved, and are also covered by insurance.

The first profits made from these will go straight to the people owed money, i have no other way of paying you guys back.
We all make stupid mistakes which is why i have the help of a financial backer, he deals with the business side and i build the thermostats.

Please bear in mind im 25, we all make mistakes at some point. Let me learn from this mistake and show you what amazing ideas i have for the reptile Hobby.

Im sure you will all be impressed at what i can actually achieve given half a chance.
As a gesture i will send one of these thermostats to every person owed money aswell as there outstanding monies. I will also send one to T-bo and he can use it to raise some money for the forum or something.

Ok so the unit is not yet past prototype yet you have it ce apporved and ready to ship to stores in less then a month! Chris you have been proven a scammer, the only reason it did not go further was cps felt there was not enough evidence! This is not your first go at scamming the reptile world either, theres two or three other goes with vivs and racks!
You where also called out on the stat once already, basicly knicking the spec of another brands soon to be released model!

Prove us wrong, arnswer a few questions!

Who is backing you and for how much? do they know your full history?
What shops in what areas?
whats the web address?
how many people do you owe and in what order will you repay them?
photos of the complete unit?
who are you using to produce the units for you and whats the first order for?
what does your insurance cover and who is the cover with?
what is the address the company is regisited to?
why have you not contacted those your in debt to sooner to tell them about this?
what is your back ground in electronics? what qualitcations do you hold?

theres a few for now and im sure i can come up with many many more as come others here! balls in your court, prove everyone wrong!

I dont have to answer any of these questions. However some i will answer just for the sheer hell of it.

I will not disclose any info on my financial backing or ins and outs of the business

Heres what i will answer:

My experience in electronics go back years, i obtained an A grade at school but did not prsue it further, i then went into mechanics after school working with electrical/electronic equipment. Plant machinery came next, mostly mechanical/hydraulic. From here i obtained an NVQ4 in mechanical engineering whilst working as a tool maker.

Thus i have knowledge of both mechanical and electronic engineering.

The design of this thermostats electronics however was done by a professional company. The software was also written by a professional who has 9 years experience with ARM devices (the cpu of the thermostat)

the thermostats themselves are assembled by myself and 2 friends.
The machining is done at various companies around the north east.

Photos of the completed unit will be available from 13/09/2010
Demonstration unit pictures will be available from Tuesday next week.

We will be building 250 units for an initial order but we anticipate already from responces we will need a total of 600+

I have no need to go into details of who i owe money to and when they will get it back and in what order, quite frankly i dont belive it is of your concern.

As for CE approval i can get certification on a self certification basis, this has too been dealt with by the electronics compnay designing the boards.

so the website will be ready in two weeks but pics upto 4 weeks away? whats the domain name, if its only a few weeks away it must be registed so we can at least look at that to find out if your lieing or not?
As for who you owe, yep not really by business but as they post here and you said they would be paid should you not give them a idea of where they are on your list?
Just more side stepping a lies so fare it seems, who on earth would invest in you knowing what you owe?

There isnt currently a domain registered, since it takes only a day or two to do it i thought it could wait as there were more pressing issues.
I can prove what i have with pictures but i cant make it actually work and do what the spec says until i have software to do it, this is being finalised and will be with me on the 10th of september all being well.

From then i can show fully working examples and the demo units will go into stores, these are basically a typical wooden vivarium setup with one of these themostats, that way customers can play with them before purchasing.

As for who would invest in me, thats what friends are for, even i have those. He actually offered too as he owns an engineering company and i asked him to do some work for me as a favour, he saw what i was building over the weeks and thought they were a good idea, i explained that it was going to take ages as i had no cash to launch them and he offered to help.

You might think of it as side stepping but i dont know all your answers as i dont have full control over the business sides of things, i just want to design them, build them and get them out there.

Now then since you have asked loads of questions i would like to ask one.

if customers pay for these thermostats on collection in a reputable outlet. Where is the scam ???
How can i get cash from people through a shop who must first give a thermostat to the customer.

Jus tthink about the logic of it, im trying to make things right.

Part of my work is dealing with a team of buyers to bring new items to retail so with that in mind im worried about your time scale for bringing these to market. You wont have a fully working unit until the 10th september yet your going to market with these on the 13th september. You are not leaving enough time to ensure these units are fully fit for sale, remember one thing these units can kill! i will ask again as you claimed your insured on these, what are you insured for exactly?
As the old saying goes the devil is in the detail and your showing a real lack of details.
As for where the scam is going through a shop, well the add you put on cb did not say anthing about going via shops did it? was this just another side step knowing you where about to be outed, or is it as you now see indeed the truth? How are you dealing with the shops, are you extending credit terms, sale or return or just charging upfront for the units?
Another old saying applies here, once bitten twice shy! you have bitten twice already with vivs and racks.

And one more point again, you have said the proceads from these will go towards paying those you owe money to. Now being relistic and using some logic what percentage of each sale will actualy go to pay this debt?
Theres the cost of production, investors, i guess you need somthing to live off and then theres the taxes you need to pay.
What do you value the stat market at, baring in mind its pretty much a two horse race with habbistat and microclimate the horses. Others have simply come and gone and your specs sound very much like the new habbistat thats in the works and is taking a lot longer then you seem able to do it in.

Look i dont have to answer your silly questions, what i do is my own concern these have been tested extensively over the past 6 months, but instead of an actual device they have been tested on a development board by the software designer, i have been assured by the designer of the software and also of the hardware that these are safe and ready for retail.

Peterf if your reading this you make thermostats and know this is the truth, this is how it would be done.
Again Peterf you will also know that software for a full colour digital screen and full control over the environment is not a simple thing, it would have to be written by a software engineer.
after which it would be tested for function and tested over a period of time to obtain reliability of components.
After such time final revisions and tweaks will iron out the creases.

This is not something i built yesterday, remember the other version (the one i stole) i has the same functions as this one, only difference is its ugly and bulky. This thermostat is in fact MKII.

No more questions no more answers, the 13th will come and these will hit the market, then you can pick faults with them as no doubt even you will buy one.
