It would be quite risky.
What would happen if the buyer had to pull out and demanded the money back?
Could you provide a full refund?

Get a contract drafted up and get a Direct Debit or Standing Order set up and I can't see any problems.

we bought our suriname red tail by payment plan... through the mill.

£275 on a snake was a lot to us at the time!

they gave a time limit, and you just had to go in and pay your amount each week / month.

we'll most likely do payment plans, when the time comes that we're selling the more expensive snakes... cuz we know how it feels to not have enough money all in one go.

how i would do it is...
have a seperate account set up, that people set up a standing order to, with a reference number, and mark down when i check online banking each week, who has paid, and mark it off in a book...
then once it's paid up, it can be collected/delivered.

i would try not to touch the cash in there til it was all paid off, and the snake gone. that way, if anything happened, it was still there to give back..
