Mothers side from gamekeeping Lines no scores, But no problems in any of her past litters

I can't wait till Dexter comes to start his life here!

I have been wanting a chocolate Labrador for 20 years but knowing what I wanted exactly. However these pups and breeding ticked all the boxes for me, and contain Drakeshead lines which is a line I am fond of.

These are genuinely very well bred pups. A planned types matching combining show and working lines. Which was exactly what we were wanting. Especially since as Dexter will be a working dog being trained to support Beren, but will also partake in shows with Beren, helping to build his confidence around larger crowds of people.

dont mean to cause any offence, as it seems you are trying to do everything by the book, but if thats the case, why not have the mother hip and elbow scored? i have a choc lab who is 3 now and we made sure both mum and dad had hip scores of less than 5 and 0 elbow scores, its just not worth the heartache and pain which i have seen happen to others.

the mum was going to be scored but because she is 6 and this is her last litter the vets advised me not to bother she has had a full health check and is extremely healthy I am in contact with all the pups are I have bred none have any hip problems, the parents having good hips doesnt mean the pups will, diet and exercise as a pup can be worse for causing hip problems, I have a 11year old Labrador that can still do a full days shooting the vet says he's as healthy as a 4year old if not better.

I would NEVER breed/sell a lab that was ill

Having waited 17 to get another Labrador, because of health issue within the breed etc. I have chosen a pup from this litter going on the health, Temp and working ability of the parents and grandparents. Knowing teh parents, and the breeder has ment that I have got to know the dogs very well in terms of health. A dog with any sign of health defect that would prevent it from working a day in the field or woods, even in snow or rain and love every moment with out a stiffness or an ache. That shows very good type, breeding and health quality.
