In my experience, if the RSPCA suspect that a snake is going to be venomous they pass the case on to those of us with the experience and skill to deal with the situation.

I remember a great one from Animal Hospital with Rolfy wobble board Harris.
*Read in Rolfy accent*
"RSPCA inspectors were called to a deserted flat where residents have reported what sounds like a rattlesnake inside. The inspectors force the front door and instantly hear what does indeed sound like a rattlesnake. Before they enter the building all precautions are taken and the inspectors put on their protective clothing"
You then see them putting on wellies and marigold rubber gloves!

Turns out it was a shower head hanging in the bath letting out periodic spurts of water. So, the inspectors were dressing in the right attire after all!

The only time i have heard of the RSPCA being used in a case where venomous was involved was a case involved keeping without a licence. The RSPCA, and council were involved, and to deal with the venomous they enlisted the help of a very well known venomous keeper.
