I am a writing from a television production company based in Southampton called Cloud One Television. We make programmes for the BBC, ITV and Channel Four. Recent shows include Saving Planet Earth (BBC) and Extinct (ITV). I am putting together some research for a possible feature for the BBC all about people who keep wild animals in light of the recent news regarding relaxing the Dangerous Wild Animals Act. Hoping to talk to people who really care for their animals and have an opinion on the subject. Be really interested to hear from anyone who keeps 'wild animals' in the south (Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Dorset) Can you help?

I think the thing about a TV program about DWA keepers is good in principle, however for all of us on here that love exotic animals there are alot of people that dont like people keeping normal exotics let alone DWA, I for one wouldnt of wanted to broadcast the fact on TV and know alot of other people who feel the same.

I cant help but cast my mind back to the program on TV in NI, that didnt really do that good a job of portraying DWA keepers, and obviously the keepers involved didnt know that it was going to come across in that way when it was being filmed.

Also a mate of mine, was in his local newspaper with a rattlesnake a few years ago, and his neighbors were not happy, they petitioned the council and accused him of single handedly pushing the house prices down, no one would appreciate that witch hunt.
