Rainforest hognose

These fantastic vipers were found in pristine rainforest about 12km from La Selva, Costa Rica.

Fantastic photos, La Selva is a place i am simply dieing to see. I spent time at Tirimbina and Monteverde but la selva is on the list for the near future

awesome species arent they, stunning little things. top one looks very similar in colouration to one i photographed in tirimbina

both of these colour-forms were found in the same 'patch' of forest.

I've never been to La Selva, I was based up stream and higher in altitude but that whole area is amazing. Loads of wildlife, friendly people, relatively easy to get to and you're only a few hours away from Tortuguero NP with public transport although you can hire a boat to take you all the way up to Tortuguero form Puerto Viejo if you've the extra cash....I unfortunately didn't so it was buses for me
