Theres no way a 3ft viv is big enough for a chinese water dragon. Whe theyre fully grown they can be 3ft long themselves. For a CWD you need at least 4ft L x 3ft H x 2ft D, and thats a bare minimum. They do best with room to run around and climb. Ideally a 6ft L x 4ft H x 3ft D.

Have you conciderd maybe the WD is only young? putting a hatchling/juvenile in a 6x4x3 at that size is only gonna make working with the WD difficult. Perhaps he will be upgrading the enclosure later in life? I am yet to see a 3ft water dragon, do you mean STL? cause lets face it you cant really add their 18 inch tail into the hole factor. But i agree with you a 4x3x2 would be better, if your brother is getting an adult! (bigger enclosure means a less likley hood of nose rub)

As stated Id recommend a larger viv for the reptile........we do 4x3x2 and keep them in stock if required
