Default I have a failed thermostat

Just checked to see if all my thermostats were working correctly and noticed one that fails to switch on, the red lights are not coming on as I turn the nob clockwise to raise temperature.

Now before I go pulling all my vivariums out from the wall to get to the plug to check the fuse, what other faults might have caused this to fail?

Happens to me sometimes and it had always been the fuse that has failed. Go to B&Q and buy a bag if spares. Now I have no problems. It may be something else, but from my experience it's always the fuse.

The first point of call for any sparky would be the fuse. Too many people in the past replace non faulty ones without checking the fuse. They're designed in all cases to be the first point to fail on all electrical equipement.

firstly the fuse. most likely failure point. secondly the light, if it's not an LED, which should last for years, though not indefinitely.
plug a light into it, turn the stat up if the light comes on, then the stats working and the indicator light is broke.

I dont know if you have already done this but just try turning your electric off and on and see if the led light flicks red briefly as I have had problems with my new stat this weekend. It wasnt clicking on and off either!
