Default solid cupboard to convert, how to protect

i am about to win a solid pine computer cupboard with i am going to convert into vivs, how can i protect it from the heat? or can i even do that? im really worried its not going to work now as ive heard horror stories from solid wood vivs, please dont tell me ive wasted my money!

you've wasted your money..

nah. you shouldn't use pine for vivs but if you coat it with yacht varnish then it should be fine. do a coat and leave to dry properly, then add another, leave a few days to dry and then another

thats it your too quick for me MEKO was just about to post the same info i think PVC liquid that you can buy from b&q in a tin or bottle will be ok too but dont quote me on it as ime not 100% sure moor like 20% good luck
