Default starter uv light help

i have a starter uv light in my viv, im currently working on a viv i bought but it only have small holes to thread the wires through. My starter viv has a big box attached to it. what does everyone use in their vivs? and if you use a starter light what did you do when it came to the big box?

I think your two options are to either cut the wires to the tube connectors and rejoining them (not recommended unles syou have elctrica lexperience) or cut a larger hole to feed the large plugs through and then block up the holes again. In B+Q and Homebase you can buy small ventiallation covers designed for cabinets and cases, if you cut a slot into one of those from the centre outwards you coudl twist your wires into it and it would block up the hole afterwards

As for the black box (known as a ballast unit) if you locate it so that there is plenty of air to venitilate it, but try putting it somewhere underneath your viv if you possibly can because the warm air rising off it can give you some free additional heating, as long air can get to it from the sides and/or below it won't overheat.
