as far as i know you can use pva, varnish, silicone and epoxy resin to seal fake rock. it would depend on what you are using it for i guess. A high humidity viv will need epoxy or silicone to withstand the moisture. a beardy viv is very dry so you could probably get away with pva, but a good few coats for good measure. Whatever you use make sure you leave it to air completley until there is NO SMELL AT ALL!!! there was a fella a fewmonths ago that built and varnished a viv and as soon as it was dry threw all his animals in there. then he wondered why they almost died. Not good, so leave it somewhere warm to leach all the fumes out.
