Default Thermostat/heat mats

Does anyone know if i would be able to hook up 4 heat mats to 1 thermostat? If so, how would i do it?

Or are there any thermostats on the market made for things like this?

you can though make sure, that they (the mats) dont add up to more than what the rating for the stat is and the mats would all have to be the sme brand and size and rating! for the probe to work properly. i personally wouldn't do this though as it my lead to unreliable temperatures in each viv.

Default multi mats 2 stat

yeah, no prob, as long as the TOTAL wattage on the mats doesntexceed the limit on the stat. . use elec cable joiners, get all the blue wires, cut insulation back n twist together n insert securely into cable joiner (same with brown`s into separate joiner) n hey presto, 2/3/4/5/6 into 1 does go. . hope this makes sense

Be careful of the temps in the individual tanks. The stat will only monitor the probed tank, switching others on and off when the probed one hits the limits regardless of their temps

as he says as long as the vivs / tubs are the same size etc... its no problem, its how everyone heats multiple boxes in racks.....but instead of cutting the cables why not just plug an 8 way extension into the stat and the mats into the extension job done....just keep an eye on the temps in each viv / rack

I was thinking about doing that lol. Its for a rack so all mats and tubs will be the same size and the rack will be raised off the ground on feet so temps should be consistent.

Do you think i should use a pulse stat or dimmer or matstat?

Thanks alot for replies
