Default Vivarium Build questions

Hello all i am building a 36" x 20" x 22 "vivarium and would like your opinions on the bast way togo with the electrics. That is which items.

1/I have been told to use a 50w basking lamp, Dose this need to be attached to a dimer or anthing else electronic?

2/ heating i was going to go for a Microclimate AHS of either 150 or 250 which includes all the electronics whicch i can get for £73. but a 1 shop advised against it. So i thought a ceramic heater of say 150w and cage attached to a pulse thermostat can anyone give me any idea which is the best one Microclimate day/night pulse at about £32 or Habistat day/night + night eye which takes it to over £50? or have you any other choices.

3/ UVB lighting I would like to go the compact way because of the extra tube starter that you have to have for the tubes. Any thought on whih way to go pls?

Also anything else you think i might need and have not mentioned in the way of the electrics/electronic.

Many thanks Regards Andy

2/ heating i was going to go for a Microclimate AHS of either 150 or 250 which includes all the electronics whicch i can get for £73. but a 1 shop advised against it. Did they say why? Why do you want a day night, what animal is it for?

Do you need the basking bulb? In our Beardie set up we have a 150w ceramic that provides the basking spot and takes care of the ambient temps. We just use the UV tube for light, don't have any other light in there.

Why do you want a day night, what animal is it for? Its for a beardie he is about 18month old. I thought you needed a slightly differant temp at night ???

So do you think the compact type bulbs will be ok in normal plastic fittings and one 10uvb and a 2uvb againe just asking cos i dont know only what i have read on the adverts for these lamps on ebay. they recomend a 10 with a 2?

Our beardie set up is a 150w ceramic on constant temp 24/7 and a 25w 10.0uv tube, on a timer 12h on 12h off.

Our beardie seems to be doing well enough on this.

You would be better posting this in the lizard section TBH mate, prob get mroe response.
