Default Cheap Digital Thermostat

Yo guys saw this on ebay thinking i might buy 1,
DIGITAL PROGRAMMABLE ROOM CENTRAL HEATING THERMOSTAT on eBay, also, Thermostats, Heating Cooling Air, Home Garden (end time 25-Mar-09 23:02:53 GMT)

im helping setup my g/f brothers beardie he got 2yrs old but the poor things been in a setup with 1 100w spot and a compact uv in a 4x2x2.
and these had been running 24/7
following fitting a digi in out thermometer realised temps just wern't high enough, basking was just creeping into the 90f cold end was 73f and hot was 82f.
no controller etc just some very shady wiring.

anyhow been thinking about temp control and the dimming thermostats r pricey, obviously the beardie don;t wanna be disco dancing with a bulb flashing on and off.
so my plan was to keep the underpowered 100w spot and fit the ebay thermostat to boost the temp with a non light emitting ceramic, you have to keep the box in the tank unless you unsoldered the thermistor? and remote mounted it,

you can set day and night temp so would also help keep it in th 70-75f as the temp has dropped to 65f in the night. and hit a better range during the day,

Peace out people

That is an electronic thermostat designed for a central heating system. These stats do not switch a load...they give out an electronic signal to another device (central heating system)
The stats we use are designed to switch a load....600watts for example.
This is a different animal all together mate.
You will have to fork out for a pulse or dimming stat I am afraid.

This seems to a switch 230v.
"the digital themostat has been designed to switch a 230vac supply, the maximum load is 6 amps (resistive)/ 2 amps (inductive)

That 1 isnt suitable.
Also the temp sensor is inside the unit meaning you will have to put it inside the viv, this would cause problems as ther are not designed for such constant humidity.
It is powered by batteries, so if they go flat then it wont work.
There are other units suitable but this 1 isnt.
