i would personally use a multi socket adapter to plug the mats into then plug that into the stat.that way everything is individually fused still so if one of the mats develops an electrical fault it should only take that out and not the stat or other mats. id also replace the fuses in the plugs of the mats to 1amp(can get these from an electrical wholesalers)this just makes it that little bit safer as the rating is lower so this will blow quicker under fault conditions. also ensure the lot is protected by means of an earth leakage device i.e an rcd
