Default Silly Question about installing heat lamps and guards

Dear All,

I had my first viv setup a couple of weeks ago when i bought my first corn snake Sfer.

I wired all the lamp up and got it working with the thermostat, but i am concerned that its physical seating in the viv is not right. (Currently Sfer lives in a smaller tub inside the viv as he is small enough to escape as he is only small. Basically I pushed the lamp through one of the ventilation holes on one side of the viv (2ft viv). The lamp holder seems quiet large and although i am aware i need a guard for the lamp i just wish to install that this was correct? I couldnt see any screw fixings on the lamp holder at all and have no idea how i would fit a guard? or where to get one?

Sfer is happy and the temp is 80 in the middle 87 warm end and 77 in the cool end. However when he is bigger in a few weeks\months when he is in the full viv he will need to be protected from them lamp.

Regards and many thanks,

Nathaniel
