UVB tube / starter help please!
Hiya folks,
I have a starter unit that takes tubes of around 2cm diameter. What I'm wondering is whether there is anywhere that sells UVB tubes this size (I couldn't find any), or if you get such a thing as an adaptor to allow the starter to take 'normal' sized tubes (like repti glo)? I have seen adaptors for starter units, but I don't know if they are the right sizes for what I have. Just hoping I can use the starter for something I need it for! Any help much appreciated  Thankies

Anyone?
I've found a use for it for the meantime, with the original tube, but would like to be able to use it for UVB if at all possible!

you can't get adaptors for them ..
simply due to the wattage of the ballast .. i would recommend getting a arcadia vivarium ballast .. they are only £10 or £15 Alan

i work in a reptile sho and all uv tubes are 1inch diameter and there is no adapter for the smaller style im afraid.
what are you using the UV for (what lizard) i would recommend using an Arcadia 12% or a JBL 8% if its for a beardie as these give the best UVB output for a reasonable priced tube, and my testing has shown that both will last 12months before needing to be replaced. think the zoo-med repti-sun 10% is the best on the market, but is also the most expensive Ryan

Thanks guys. I don't 'need' it for UVB at the mo, just wondered whether it could be used for UVB at all, save me buying another starter in the future! As I said, I've found a use for it with the standard tube for now. Will just keep it for lighting things up instead
