Default what type of glass is best for a bosc viv?

The Viv i am building is 8x4x4 and was wondering what type of glass is safe and secure that wont smash as easy?

I would use for 6mm toughened as its pretty tough and safest and about 14/16 70/80mm round vents along near the top and bottom.
