Default Which thermostat for tubular heater?

Would an on/off type of thermostat be sufficient for a tubular heater? I realise that a pulse stat probably provides a more consistent temperature, but would an on/off stat be OK to use? Considering that tubular heaters are often used in conservatories/garages/sheds most household thermostats are on/off types.

An on/off would be ok but I find a pulse is far better for them.

Is that because the temperatures remain more constant or because the tube's life is shortened by an on/off? Cheers!

It remains constant.
The tubes can take a while to heat up so you can get quite a variation using an on/off type stat.
