Default Type, size of habitat for my baby moorish gecko

Some of you may recall when we posted a 'can you identify this gecko' post after finding a tiny gecko in a box of apples. Well you'll be pleased to know we've had him 2 months and he's doing really well and got a little bit bigger.
Now is the time to invest in a larger home for him. We've read he needs height as apposed to length, but size and equipment required we would like your help.
Could I keep him in a very tall plastic fish tank, its one of those hexagon shaped fish tanks?
Thanks for reading
