The bigger DIY stores usually sell the digital ones very cheaply.
Only problem with the digital ones are i've always found the instructions
impossible to figure out, so pretty much gave up on them, but thats probably just me being thick

Hi

I had one of those dial ones and couldn't for the life in me work it out. I bought a digital one from Wilko's for a fiver and after a week of having it plugged in, it finally kicked in last night - hurrah The instructions are pretty simple too

Non of mine click until they are almost ready to die on me, thats when I know to replace them. They are really cheap ones as well £1.49 + VAT for JTF.

I bought all mine from Homebase, dial ones and digitals, none of the dials click. The digital ones are not usually recommended for flourescent lights, including UV tubes, but I've never had a problem using them.
