Default Electrical backup

I was wondering what you guys, especially the breeders amongst you, use for heating if the power goes out?
I know adults snakes will be fine without heat for a certain amount of time, but what about incubators etc?
Thanks!

Power cuts are a fairly regular occurrence where I live, something to do with being next to the river, or at least that's the excuse my supplier gave but I really don't see what that has to do with it!
Anyway I bought a generator a couple of years ago, it was only £100 second-hand, it can run lights, TV, the CH, fridge etc...

I have a 2.5 KW petrol generator in case we are cut off for any length of time.

The house heating is gas but the heat is supplied by pumps or fans that run on electricity. So no power equales no heat.

A few year ago I lost loads of snakes in the incubator after several power outages because of problems with burried lines.
I said that as soon as I had access to one I would buy a back up generator.
Since then the underground lines have been dug up and replaced.
I have never had to use the generator, thankfully.

Stephen.

Thanks guys, i lose power here a few times a year, you just never know how long its going to stay off for. Sometimes its a few minutes and it has been up to 8 hours. Better safe than sorry eh?
Thanks!

You may want to try a UPS there used for backing up the power to Servers if there is a power cut you can get them on eBay cheep and they last a while depending on the size you get!

If you want anymore info just give me a PM and im happy to help!

My gas central heating system is also connected to a fire in the living room. So if i loose power (which is very rare) and its cold i can fire that up and it takes over all the heating needs. It can get the house very warm so should be fine. If worst comes to worst i also have a small generator in the shed.
