Why ceramic? 60w should be fine but you also need ceramic lamp holder, heat resistant cable and a guard, a 20w - 25w heat mat would be fine with mat stat and would cost half price of going ceramic.

Based on the little leaflet that came with my bulb, 100w should be used in enclosures with 120-160 litres volume and 150w for 200-400 litres. Your viv works out at 191 litres.

A 100w would work but it would have to work harder to heat the area than 150w would meaning it would be on for more of the time. I don't think there's much difference in price so personally I'd go for the 150w.

In response to Lotus Nut, heat mats aren't advised for use with heavy bodied snakes as they can act as an insulant causing thermal blocking (heat is unable to escape from the mat and so builds up) and can in extreme cases cause the mat to heat to a point where it could burn the snake.

150watt is overkill for a small viv. 60watt will do the job or even a 75watt.

You're right that heat mats aren't advised for heavy bodied snakes; but royals aren't heavy bodied snakes.
