saw these working today ,had 2 little heat bulbs in it..the ones with 2 pins that cost 50p. [but exo terra brand..9.99 each lol]
and 2 uv tubes in it. [one postioned ok, one quite far back and i cant see why yourd have 2 tubes when one bulb positioned without mesh in front would do the better job.

the hood was running VERY VERY hot.

I find it sickening that a company specialising in reptile equipment would design something that really ..well.. reeks of a lack of common sense.
I think they wanted £130 for each but that may have included the bulbs.

But black plastic? no venitaltion and well...

EDIT
Sorry thas the one with the coile type thingy fittings that dont incluse the bulb, i was talking about the exact same looking ones that fit the same vivs that have 2 uv tube fittings and 2 fittings for these

i would not use those spots in a plastic top. altough there is a heat sheild.
mine will be used with a 5% uv bulb as it is more for plants, dart frogs will not require much as they live on forest floor so dont get a lot of light. so heat wise should be fine very little, will have to wait and see.

yeh shoudl be fine for them for sure.
I just am suprised they didnt put some ventialtion in there.

With the prices of the exo terra vivs themselves the set up works out quite pricey so I woudl expect to not get burnt when i touch it lol

they do look good though thats for sure.
