Default Timers?

Can you get timers which fit into an edison screw socket, so the timer sits between the bulb and the e/s fitting? As in for like main room lighting?

I`m sure they must exist but i can`t find any!

I haven't been able to find any. What I've done is take the lamp holder off and put a socket on the cable, timer into socket and put cable from flourescent to plug, which then plugs into the timer. Does this make sense?

You have to use bayonet ones with an adaptor.
