hes lovely with me and the oh, but anyone else that comes in the house gets bitten on the back of the head in a typical marm discipline way! he usually calms down when ppl agree that hes the boss. and yes they live in my house, with a nice outdoor cage for nice days (which there wont be any more of for a while now!)

How do you cope with the urine and defecating?! Lol. Do you not find them to smell? How old are they now, anymore pics you have would be great, i've always been intrested in them and even though I don't entirely agree they should be indoors etc what your offering them is 100% better than alot of people, its great you have more than one and somewhere outside!!

hello, sorry to hi jack your thread? i thought maybe anyone else who keeps marms could post here too? i have a hand reared pair, both of which are silly tame. my male is 9 months old now and the female is around 4 months old. they took a bit of getting used to each other, but are not getting along ok. if you have the time, patience and resources for these animals then they can be very rewarding. they both live indoors with us but i do put them outside to exercise etc...

Both our male and female sit on our shoulder like yours when were out and have never tried to run off. i know some people disagree with monkeys as pets. but on the upside, both of ours were hand reared for a reason and prob wouldnt be here todat if they werent. just a couple pics to finish up with....enjoy

As for the smell etc....dont all animals?

MALE

FEMALE

Lol, very cute pics, No I don't think that all animals smell if kept correctly, its usually just a nice smell of hay or wood shavings or nothing at all, although I do wonder how you with them in the house cope with the urine scent marking and the poo-ing as, correct me if im wrong but Marmies can't be litter trained? Keep the pics coming

mine have a cage indoors. they don't spend much time in there, but they do sleep in it, by choice! half 7 they put themselves to bed. its handy as well in case something is going on which isn't marm appropriate, or if someone who dosn't like them comes around (it does happen!)
as for the smell you do get used to it, i cant smell anything now, but other ppl can!
oh, and they're sexually mature at about 1 1/2 (males younger than females) so i fully expect my girl to be knocked up very soon....

Very very sweet Marmies you have there! My pair are so entertaining to watch, especially when you throw a tub of locusts in their aviary!

Will you be hand-rearing any babies that your pair produce then, as hand-reared males have no experience in carrying & caring for babies, like they would learn from their parents, so they won't be much good as fathers?
