Colin you should get some pics up of yours!! Lol If your guys do breed what will you do with the babies as colin has said, as they will not know how to carry and look after young and there is the possibility they will re-ject them, through no fault of their own of course, although I have heard of hand-reared Marms carrying young succesfully.

my female came from an adult pair that had been hand reared, and i was told they had no problems. im not sure what ill do when they come to breeding. i will more than likely let them raise the babies themselves and then try to tame them.

or sell them to be added to other groups. as for the smell, i think if you disinfect all areas they use, then it shouldnt smell

Are yours re-stricted to a room then, sorry for all the questions I just can't imagine what its like having them run around the house pooing and weeing, I mean I live with a raccoon and skunk running around and they're enough trouble!

i wouldn't even try to get rid of the smell, after all they're scent marking for a reason! i'm used to it now!
they're always catching escapee crickets for me, but do love all insects.
as for breeding, i'm gonna wait and see what happens there. he's really good with his baby sister, so fingers crossed he'll carry fine, i have visions of him passing them to me though! i think it depends on how they were hand reared. i've met marms who speak perfect monkey, and marms that have no idea what the high speed gray blurs wizzing around are. and every female hand reared marm i've know has turned into a psycho when she matures, bites chunks out of your face crazy!

Thats intresting about the females turning psycho when they hit maturity, could it be the fact that they are hand-reared by males and prefer males, the fact that they don't like females or see them as competition for the breeding female. Or is it just a maturirty thing..

are males fine with males?

its competition, they want the men in the house all to their self, lol. usually though when a female loses the fight the first time, she would have learned some respect, especially when their competition is so much bigger! but thats hand reared marms, they think they're ppl.

no mine arent restricted to a room, they have literally the run of the whole house. mine are kept the same, as they do have a cage which they sleep in, again, by choice. i also use it for when people come round who dont like them or they dont like lol, i have a mate that my male hates. i think if i let him get to him he would probably actually kill him. lol. i havent had problems with either my male or female yet. i find that they do most of their toilet business in the morning, so i restrict them to one room when they have just woken up. they do their toilet business, clean it up so it isnt festering around and then they will only do the odd bit of toilet business throughout the day.
