How much do you feed your skunks?

Hiya, just curious on how much you other skunk owners feed.

George has 80% veg/ 10% fruit/ 10% protein...Im giving him 500 grams a day split into 3 meals at the moment so it works out at 400 grams veg, 50 grams fruit and 50 grams chicken or c. cheese or egg or tuna.

George is nearly 5 months old and weighs approx 1.4 kilogramms.

On S.B they say to feed half a cup twice a day! My breeder said to feed as much as he wants but lets face it they would eat however much you put infront of them!

So come on get your scales out!

I dont weigh my skunks food in my eyes they are babies and need to eat little and often i feed mine usually 4 times aday i have bowls like Nerys uses for her skunks and they get a bowl full of fresh veggies with a slice of fruit mixed in morning an eveing meals are topped with either yoguart or cottage cheese

they get through the day either a day old chick, a few morio worms or some mealies or some tuna in spring water


i follow a diet that my vet researched for me and it seems to be working fine for my two

dont forget a bit of ruffage such as pasta or rice helps to stop prolapses

i cook the pasta for mine

just leave it standing in kettle boiled water till its gone cold then drain the water an mix it into their veg

Ive had her a few weeks as didnt get mine from nerys (wish I had). Kinda rescued her so shes not in best of conditions but is getting there and moose loves her.
